Doctor

  • Dr. Sharon D White


    Dr. White is a native Georgian. She received her Bachelor of Science in Biology from the University of Ga. in 1980, and went on to the College of Veterinary Medicine at UGA, graduating in 1984. From there, she moved to Louisville, KY and practiced for 15 months before returning to Georgia where she practiced in Marietta for eight years prior to opening her own hospital in Woodstock, Ga in June, 1993. Dr. White has served on the board of the Cherokee County Humane Society, and is currently a member of the AVMA, GVMA and other local veterinary societies. Dr. White speaks German, and Spanish.

  • Dr. Karen Clark


    Dr. Karen Clark graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Biology in 1980 from Columbus University in Columbus, Ga. She then attended the University of Ga. and received her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine in 1984. From there, she served as the head of the Northern Branch of Veterinary Services at Fort Ord, Ca. until 1988. As well as routine surgeries, Dr. Clark handles all of our knee repair and bone surgeries. She was instrumental in bringing  Veterinary Orthopaedic Manipulation (VOM) to our practice, which has helped treat countless back and muscle injuries non-surgically.  She is a member of AVMA, GVMA.

  • Paul Evans , DVM


    Dr. Evans graduated from UGA in May, 2005, and came to work with us the following year. Dr. Evans and his wife, Eva, have two children. They also have 4 dogs and 3 cats. Dr. Evan's special interests are Ophthalmology. Outside of our busy clinic, he enjoys football (the Dogs, of course), and golfing.

Management

  • Debbie Vermillion




    Debbie came to work with us in 2001 as a Customer Service Coordinator. In 2006, Debbie was promoted to Supervisor and is doing a wonderful job. Debbie is married to Joel, and has one son, named Nick. They have 3 dogs and 3 cats, most of whom were strays that were brought into Crossroads.

Technician

  • Laura Leaders


    Laura graduated as a Registered  Animal  Health Technician from Abraham Baldwin College in 1976. She moved to this area in 1987 and worked with Dr. White for many years, and was instrumental in helping Dr. White open Crossroads in 1993.

  • Merrill Rosenau , Associates Degree in Veterinary Technician


    Merrill graduated in 1997 from Colorado Mountain College and came to work with us as a Registered Veterinary Technician in 2003. Very skilled and competent, Merrill brought many new and fresh ideas to our practice. We're very lucky to have her talents as a technician. Merrill is a regular, dedicated volunteer in the fight to prevent cancer, and has successfully participated in several fund-raising events, and marches. In her spare time, she enjoys beading and various other crafts. Merrill has one daughter and several cats.

  • Theresa Martin-Bailey , Registered Veterinary Technician


    Theresa came to work with us in October, 2005. She has been in the veterinary field since 1985, and became an RVT in 2004. Theresa raises Shelties, and uses them in pet therapy with Happy Tails. She  and her husband, Justin, have one daughter. Theresa has 8 Shelties, 4 cats, 2 turtles, a Cockatiel, and a Guinea pig. Her newest addition is a rescued Arabian/Appaloosa horse.

  • Shannon Smith


    Shannon joined the Crossroads family in 1995 as a customer service coordinator. Shannon is a warm, compassionate person, and takes special care of clients, as well as our in-house kitties. She  and her husband, Lyle, have three children, and a fiesty little Jack Russel named Katie Pearl.

  • Chris Hutcherson


    Chris came to work with us in March, 2004, and has 18 years of experience in the veterinary field. Chris is married to James, and they have 2 daughters, ages 23 and 26, and 1 granddaughter, 2 years old. Chris has 3 Chihuahuas, Dumplin', Posha and SiSi, and one mix named Missy. On her days off, she enjoys crafting and being with her granddaughter, Emma.

  • Beth Franklin


    Beth came to work with us in 2006, with nearly 13 years of experience in the veterinary field. Outside of being a great client service coordinator, Beth also enjoys oil/acrylic painting, as well as many outdoor activities. She is the mother of four cats.

  • Jill O'Dell


    Jill came to work with Crossroads in 2005, but has worked in the veterinary field since 2000, when she left the corporate world to work with something she really enjoys....ANIMALS!
     
    Born and raised in Cherokee County, Jill has 2 children and 9 animals, including 3 large dogs, 3 long haired cats, 2 gecko's and 1 rabbit. Not only is Jill a very knowledgeable client service coordinator, she also handles all of the drug and food ordering for the hospital. We're very lucky to have Jill with us.

Kennel

  • Shelby Dobbs


    Shelby came to Crossroads in 2006 as part of the kennel staff. She works very hard to keep our kennel clean and ready for our boarders. She really loves working with animals, and it shows. Shelby has recently become engaged to Doug, and they will be married next year. She has a cute little Pug named Jax.

  • Ryan Pont


    Ryan came to Crossroads as part of our Veterinary Explorer's Group, and loved it so much, he volunteered to work here. His work ethic, and endless energy were so impressive that we hired him. While he is in school, he works part-time on holidays and weekends, until the Summer, when he works full time. Ryan is a very dependable, and caring young man, and we're happy to have him.

  • Sarah Wiley


    Sarah has worked in the kennel now for about 5 months, and is a hard worker and very sweet. She has 2 cats, Mercy and Fury, and a Shih Tzu named Shiloh. She is working her way through college at Georgia Highlands. We're very happy to have Sarah with us.

Grooming

  • Katie Anderson


    Katie has been grooming here since 2005. She is very skilled in all-breed grooming, and prides herself on her work. Her favorite breed to groom is the Bichon, but she does a great job with any breed. Katie is married to Woody and they welcomed their first child, Connor, in 2007. It's hard to find and keep a good groomer, and we're extremely lucky to have someone so dedicated.

  • Rebecca Newton


    Rebecca came to work with Katie in May of 2009, with about 2 years experience at another local animal hospital. She's is assisting Katie with bathing and grooming, and loves her job. She is very personable, and great with the clients, both human and animal, and we're happy to have her.

Assistants

  • Diana Bush


    Diana came to work with us as an assistant several years ago, and came back again after a short move to Florida. Diana is a wonderful employee, and has a steady, self-assured manner that our clients really love. Diana is married and has one son. Her pets include two dogs and a horse.


  • Kathy Hall


    Kathy came to Crossroads in 2007, with over 8 years of experience in the veterinary field. Kathy works as a full-time assistant, and is very good with clients, and very dedicated to her job. She is always willing to answer any questions clients might have, and is much appreciated. Outside of work, Kathy enjoys hiking, and bicycling, as well as horseback riding.

  • Colleen Hilty


    Colleen began her career with us as a kennel assistant, and has been working as a veterinary assistant since 2006. She is taking an online course in veterinary technology, and hopes to take the test for her RVT in 2009. Colleen brings a strong energy to our practice, and always has a smile for our clients and their kids. We are heartily supporting her studies.

  • Tiffany Hufford


    Tiffany began her career at Crossroads in August, 2008. She is currently taking veterinary technician classes at Gwinnett Tech. She is very capable and competent addition to our staff. Outside of work, Tiffany has been very involved in horse rescue for over 8 years. Her pets include two rescued horses, three dogs and a cat.

  • Stefanie Tietz


    Stefanie came to work with us many years ago as an assistant. She was studying to obtain her teaching degree, which she did. She is currently a biology teacher, and now works on Saturdays and holidays. She is pursuing her Master's degree.


  • Mary Griffin


    Mary has worked in the veterinary field for over four years, and began with Crossroads in the winter of 2008. She is recently graduated from Triple Crown's academy for Professional Dog Trainers, where she became a certified trainer and behavior specialist. Mary also works with a dog training company doing in-home training.

    Mary enjoys working with tracking, protection and detection dogs. She has four dogs of her own: Bruce, a Great Dane; Leroy, a Jack Russell Terrier; Purdy, a black Labrador, and Molly, a Lab mix.
